The Ministry of Health, Labor (MHLW) announced on March 30, 2018 (Notification No. 0330 No. 6) the partial amendment of Specifications And Standards for Foods, Food additives, etc. for the following chemicals, Abamectin, Gamithromycin, Cyanazine, Dinotefuran, Difenoconazole, Tiamulin, Pyraziflumid, Flutianil, Flometoquin, Folpet, Mandipropamid, Metaflumizone and Mepiquat Chloride under MHLW Notification no 153.
Outline Of Revision
1 The Maximum Residue Level (MRLs) for Abamectin, Gamithromycin, Cyanazine, Dinotefuran, Difenoconazole, Tiamulin, Pyraziflumid, Flutianil, Flometoquin, Folpet , Mandipropamid, Metaflumizone and Mepiquat Chloride have been established based on the provisions of Article 11, paragraph 1 of the Food Sanitation Act (Act No. 233 of 1947).
2 Based on the provisions of Article 11, paragraph 1 of the Act, the MHLW has revised the analytical method of Propham which is specified as a component of agricultural chemicals etc. considered "not detected" in food.
Applicable Date:
This amendment shall apply from the day of notice. However, for the specimen parts used in the analytical method of the substances which are ingredients of pesticide etc. remaining in food, the existing standards can still be used within 6months from the announcement day, and food listed for each agricultural chemical etc., existing standards can still be used withing 6 months from the annoucement of this notification.
