The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) shall improve the principles of applying the food pollutant standards and strengthen or establish the standards of lead or cadmium based on the re-evaluation result of the heavy metal standards and supply safe food to the people by establishing Histamine standards for Japanese amberjack, which is one of the fishes which develops histamine easily but there are no standards for it, yet.

Among the food raw materials, there are no precedence of cultivated fish among items registered as endangered species in the "Wildlife Conservation and Management Act". Among reported manufactured items, 3 types of fish which have no precedence of use as food ingredients shall be deleted from the food raw material register and protected as endangered species.
The MFDS shall conduct scientific food safety management by establishing and revising the maximum residue levels (MRLs) of pesticides used in domestic and overseas.
